    About The Wine

Zantho’s St Laurent grape is related to the Pinot Noir family of grapes and the wine is now available in Ontario.

The grapes grow in Zantho vineyards around the villages of Andau and Jois which are characterized by dry, gritty and mineral soils. This Austrian region is called Seewinkel and offers an ideal climate and conditions for growing the St. Laurent grape.

    Tasting Notes:

Zantho’s St. Laurent has a deep purple colour. The wine has very spicy aromas of blackberries and black cherries together with hints of cold smoke. On the palate, it is very elegant with spicy fruit of dark berries backed up by balanced acidity. On the finish, the wine offers a robust spiciness.

This wine has great cellar potential.

    Food Pairing:

Enjoy this wine with game and mature cheeses.

Wine Enthusiast, July 2011. Score: 88/100.

Tasting Notes: A soft and rounded wine, packed with typical juicy blueberry flavors. The wine has bright acidity, its tannins melting into the fruit. Ready to drink now. Age for a year.
