Supplier FAQs:

Q:What is the LCBO?

The LCBO is short for Liquor Control Board of Ontario. It is the world’s largest buyer of wines and spirits and Noteworthy Wines is a licensed agent with the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), the regulatory body of the LCBO.

Q:As a supplier, why do my products have to be tested by the LCBO?

All alcoholic products that come under the jurisdiction of the LCBO must be registered with the LCBO. More importantly, because they are a beverage item for consumption, they must be tested by the LCBO for any and all elements which might affect a person’s personal and physical enjoyment of a product.

Because the LCBO is the largest buyer of alcohol products in the world, it also has one of the most admirable and professional testing facilities in the world. With this in mind, we strongly recommend that all suppliers invest in having their products tested with the LCBO, regardless of whether or not we represent you. Having the LCBO validate your products is an exceptional first step to building credibility for your brand.

More importantly, having all of your products tested will significantly enhance your potential with respect to getting a General or Vintages listing with the LCBO.
