Sauvignon Blanc is a classic French grape that thrives in this Austrian vineyard.
The grapes grow in Zantho vineyards around the villages of Andau and Jois which are characterized by dry, gritty and mineral soils. This Austrian region is called Seewinkel and is a hot, dry region. The Sauvignon Blanc grape has adapted very well to this climate.
Tasting Notes:
The Sauvignon Blanc shows brilliant white-gold colours with yellow reflections. In the nose it seduces with crisp fruit, reminding the drinker of fresh passion fruit and gooseberry. On the palate, Zantho’s Sauvignon Blanc shows deep exotic and tropical fruit character paired with fine acidity. The finish has a light mineral taste and a hint of brine, making it a perfect match for many foods.
